These blankets are made the same way I made them for my hospice patients — slowly, gently, and with the intention of safety.
In hospice, doctors would sometimes ask me to wrap patients “like a baby.” Not for treatment — but for comfort. Soft pressure, warmth, and being held can help the body let go of fear.
I still make blankets this way.
Each Held blanket is hand-crocheted by me in small, quiet batches. They are meant for people (and animals) in tender seasons — grief, illness, anxiety, recovery, adoption, or simply needing something soft to curl into when the world feels overwhelming.
No two are the same.
Each one carries care in every stitch.
